WHICH ONES ARE THE TERRORISTS

en Limba Engleză Paperback – 31 iul 2008
Conflict is unavoidable. We deal with it every day, with friends, and with enemies-and even in our own minds. "Which Ones Are the Terrorists?" is a compilation of unscripted commentaries, collected from the West Bank and from around the world about the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, inspired by the prospect of peace in the Middle East, collected from the author's Web installation [West-Bank.cam] from 2000 until 2007, and includes 18 digital paintings by the author. A short preface places the project in the context of the life of a working artist in New York City.

Notă biografică

Andreas Troeger is an German-born American artist, filmmaker and author. He was awarded the German Short Film Award, received numerous prices from international Film and Video Festivals and was selected for a DAAD scholarship. In 1992, Troeger moved to Manhattan of New York City to study American film productions at NYU. While studying in the USA, he met new media artist and political activist Paul Garrin, who inspired him to use video art in editing and the Internet to create interactive art. Troeger works in a variety of media and collaborated early in his carrier with art superstar Nam June Paik, who is considered to be the first video artist. Troeger has edited over 600 TV episodes for Paramount Pictures, realized many independent films, documentaries, commercials, fashion videos, promotionals, art and dance videos and created numerous internationally shown video installations. The Out of the Ordinary is an element in almost all of his works. He provokes the viewer on a contextual, visual and acoustical level and is the author of two books. He programmed and co-designed the political art-project name.space, which was designed to unstrain the Internet from special interest's control and expanded the artificial limitation of TLDs imposed on the Internet users by Network Solutions and IANA. The project was honored by the ARS Electronica. Currently, he works as independent filmmaker, editor and media artist. His works are distributed via TV, DVD, the Internet and in print. In 2006, he started scuba diving and is developing an increasingly enthusiasm for tech, wreck and cave diving and studies Japanese. In 2007, he published his first book "Anti Biography," a fast paste memoir of secret pleasures, dark desires and the transformation of a workingman into a radical artist.
