Kam immigrated to America when he was 4 years old and wanted to be accepted as a full-fledged American his entire life. In his journey to experience all that is American culture, he took some risks and exposed himself to a diversity of people, situations, and ideas. He achieved what was not permitted to his Chinese ancestors who helped to build the First Transcontinental Railroad to connect the East and West coasts of America. This book describes his journey as a Chinese-American boy seeking full acceptance as a patriotic adult in America.
