Notă biografică
About the Author: I was born in the winter of 1987, in Houston, Tx in a small house in Third Ward. I have two siblings that are twins a brother and sister, two years my senior. My parents were both well educated and put a lot of stock on learning and our home had a lot of books. Most of the books were novels, English literature, history books and law books but a few were comic books. I enjoyed reading the other books but I gravitated more with comic books. I just found it interesting on how two mediums of writing and illustrations combine together into one. I remember vividly as a kid with my dad holding my hand at a food market buying groceries with food stamps in our hands till suddenly a magazine on a aisle shelf caught my attention. It was a magazine about cars with tons of advertisements but in that magazine there was a small comic book ad involving two DC superheroes, Green Lantern and The Flash. The colors were vibrant the lines of illustrations was so controlled and sharp with great tonality and fluidity of gestures with the characters. After purchasing the magazine I remember sitting in my room with my father's old sketchbook holding a pencil on my right and the magazine on my left, trying to duplicate the same drawings that I saw in the magazine on to the sketchbook. That is what I did and still do till this day like an obsession drawing comics on a sketchbooks everyday trying to create every line every gestures constantly illustrating sketches 24/7 like playing a musical instrument. I went on to College at Baylor University majoring in Graphic Design. I remembered taking a Political Science course, and I was having trouble paying attention in the class. My professor noticed that and decided to speak with me after class. He asked me Armstrong if everything was ok and I replied yes and then he told me what my Major of study was and I said Graphic Design. He said ok your taking this for requirement. Then he asked what type things Graphic Designers do and then I explained to him in details until somewhere along the line of the conversation shifted to my passion about loving to illustrate and writing comic books and then midpoint within my rambling he said why are you here? Why are you not doing that? And within that moment I knew exactly what I wanted to do in my life.
