Notă biografică

Lari Don spent ten childhood years living beside a distillery, a river and a railway line, giving her lots of opportunities for incredibly dangerous outdoor games. She was the Scottish National Party's Press Officer for many exciting and sleepless years and then a researcher and producer at BBC Radio Scotland. She won the Canongate Prize in 2001. She now lives in Leith, and is a fulltime children's writer and storyteller.

Recenzii

this is a book that will entertain even the most reluctant reader.
This extraordinary and magical collection little-known folktales is beautifully illustrated in paper-cut style and perfect for dipping into on autumnal evenings and winter's nights.
Reading and writing folk tales is a valuable exercise for any young writer and this collection...is a masterclass in the genre...we are simply treated to classic plots economically and tantalisingly told.
The language is simple so suitable for good readers of 10+, but the tales are complex enough to be enjoyed by young adults
