First Timothy 2:8-15 forms a large part of the case used to deny a ministry role for women. While the quantity of female ministry may not have been equal to that of men, this book demonstrates that some ministy was carried on. It will also show that too much is claimed from ambiguous texts. A review of the source material will show that 1 and 2 Timothy allows an inclusive ministry, particularly in our present changed environment. The book includes a review of the cultural setting into which 1 and 2 Timothy were written to see its impact on the understanding of women in ministry.
