There has been a hot war going on between the admirers of General Relativity and Quantum Mechanics, these two greatest theories of physics have been at loggerheads from the time they were invented. Each reigns supreme in its own domain of applicability but can not be extended to the other, though Kaluza Klein theory could unify theoritically there were still few problems unanswered, recently string theory gave a beautiful theoritical explanation but failed to prove anything, so the author with his limited high school knowledge of physics tried to unite both.
