Yosemite Meditations for Adventurers
Royal Robbins Editat de Claudia Welsh Fotografii de Michael Fryeen Limba Engleză Hardback – 9 iun 2014
The spirit of adventure is alive and well in Yosemite — all one needs to do is walk off and find it. But "adventure" need not mean scaling The Nose of El Capitan. The vast park is simply an adventurous place, with something for everyone. This pocket companion, brimming with Michael Frye's lush photographs paired with inspired quotes, captures the adventurous essence of Yosemite and the sense that something wonderful is waiting just over there. With a foreword by the legendary Royal Robbins, the book features writers, thinkers, and bona fide adventurers, including:

Excerpt from the foreword:
"Of the many inspiring quotes in this little book, my favorites include the words of mountaineers John Muir and Sir Edmund Hillary. And I even have my own: “Before the deed comes the thought. Before the achievement comes the dream. Every mountain we climb we first climb in our mind.” When scaling the walls around Yosemite Valley, from El Capitan to Half Dome to Sentinel Rock and Yosemite Point Buttress, from my first ascent of the face of Half Dome to my more recent solo of El Capitan, I have always found it to be true. I hope this book helps awaken your adventurous spirit and inspire your dreams." —Royal Robbins
"The mountains are calling and I must go." — John Muir
"When the pursuit of natural harmony is a shared journey, great heights can be attained." —Lynn Hill
"May your trails be crooked, winding, lonesome, dangerous, leading to the most amazing view. May your mountains rise into and above the clouds." — Edward Abbey
"It is not the mountain we conquer but ourselves." — Sir Edmund Hillary
"Magic is the only way to describe it, climbing pitch after pitch of the most perfect, beautifully sculpted granite in the world." — Ron Kauk
"To be whole. To be complete. Wildness reminds us what it means to be human, what we are connected to rather than what we are separate from." — Terry Tempest Williams
"Something to remember: Your feet are like dogs, they are happiest when they’re going somewhere." — Sharon Giacomazzi
