Greville Hunt is a compliance auditor who has found his place in the world. He is nearly engaged to be married to an accountant, and he is happy with his quiet life in compliance. Then mysterious puzzles appear as if by magic on the notice board. Greville manages to solve them, and is invited to the strangest job interview of his life with the enigmatic Mr Valentine. From that point onward, he is catapulted into a strange world where even the meeting rooms are dangerous, and where his new colleagues are the oddest bunch he's ever met. Greville has to use every ounce of ingenuity just to stay alive, armed only with his compliance skills. And his new colleague, the taciturn Magnolia, thinks that something sinister is going on, but can they find out what it is before it's too late?
