Notă biografică
Rob Kocur is a full-time wheelchair user who spent his first twenty one years in Douglassville, PA. In 1983, he continued his education at the Edinboro University of PA where he graduated Summa Cum Laude and was twice nominated for a Rhodes Scholarship. He earned a BA degree in Psychology and a MA degree in Rehabilitation Counseling. In 1986, he became a member of the U.S. wheelchair table tennis team, competing in tournaments the world over, including the Paralympics in Seoul and Barcelona. In 2001, he founded the United We Stand Theater Troupe whose mission was to encourage people with disabilities and other minorities to take an active role in theater. Since 1996, Rob has been a freelance writer, getting published in numerous magazines and having his own column in the Erie Times. In 2013, he published his autobiography, The Long Journey Home. Today, Rob lives in Erie, PA with his fiancée and his inspiration, Cathy. He fundraises for animal shelters, coordinates recreational activities for people with disabilities, and serves as Board President for Kaleidascope, a nonprofit that provides services for people on the Autism spectrum. He is also active in his church, serving as greeter and lector. Rob loves casinos, jigsaw puzzles, four-legged friends, macadamia nuts, and twisted, wicked satire. And none of what he has accomplished would be possible without the power of God.
