All Kari ever wanted to do is serve Jesus. Her first marriage to a nonbeliever thwarted her desire to travel the world and tell people about Jesus, so after her husband died and she met Marlin, she thought her dream had come true: a man with whom she could partner and evangelize the world. But his version of a Christian marriage demanded complete submission and Kari began to understand the nightmare of abusive control with a twist: using Scripture as a weapon against her.
