Notă biografică

A graduate of Texas State University with a BA in Music Education and MA in Legal Studies, Mary Kyle has had a multi-faceted career including an elementary school principal, a music teacher, a paralegal, and a certified project manager in the high tech/computer industry. She is also a free lance writer, songwriter, musician, and entertainer who has performed extensively in the central Texas region. Her musical pursuits have enabled her to back up such country music legends as Jean Sheppard, Hank Thompson, Cal Smith, Hank Locklin, Tony Booth and many others. She's also been privileged to open for Kitty Wells, Gene Watson and fiddle legend Johnny Gimble. Her lifelong love of learning and commitment to education has led her to remain active in the field of education. She is a regular reading volunteer working with students to instill a love of the written word. She has become a favorite with students and parents alike and is often referred to as a gifted storyteller who possesses a "storyteller's heart." Mary also volunteers once a month as a member of the house band at a local opry house to raise money for scholarships for local area high school students. Mary makes her home in a scenic cabin on Lake Austin, down along the tree covered river bottom, along with her husband, fellow songwriter Cotton Inks, her dog, Walter, and the neighborhood cat, Marmalade. Grandchildren, Myra and Calix, are one of life's great delights and are frequent visitors, especially during the hot Texas summer! A member of the Daughter's of the Republic of Texas, Mary takes pride in being not only a native born Texan, but the daughter of a sixth generation Texas cattle rancher. She is also proud to be an 11th generation American with her family immigrating to the United States in 1645. A Home for Blackie is her second children's book.
