A Strange Hymn by Laura Thalassa is the second book in the Bargainer series. I really enjoyed reading Rhapsodic, the first book in the series and the second book was even better. A Strange Hymn follows the story of Callie, a human with supernatural powers and her soulmate, Desmond Flynn, the king of the Night Kingdom. Their relationship starts to grow and Callie finds out significant facts about the mysterious Desmond Flynn ( The Bargainer) and his past, his childhood, his parents and his kingdom. Callie has to adapt to her new life in the Night Kingdom and to accept the reality of being the King`s soulmate and his future queen. Desmond confides in Callie and tells her more about himself and his past, his duties, his kingdom. He shows Callie how to accept her wings and teaches her to fly and to use a sword and daggers. Desmond takes Callie to different parts of hid kingdom and to the Flora Kingdom for Solstice. In the Flora Kingdom they have lots of adventures and Callie and Desmond have to face two old enemies, The Thief of Souls who is after Callie and Desmond`s father who wants to kill Desmond. When you read the book you will find out how strong their love is and if Desmond and Callie survive their encounter with the two villains. I really loved reading this book. Callie and Desmond are unforgettable characters. I love their love story, the writing style is brilliant with witty, sexy dialogue and beautiful descriptions. To sum up, if you like fantasy romance you should definitely read this series. I even loved the cover of the book. The illustration is breathtaking like the dark, mysterious world depicted in the series and the cover`s texture is similar to velvet. Callie and Desmond`s love story is magical, steamy, heart-melting and exciting. All I can say is Happy reading!
