​This book offers new insights into the ongoing agricultural transformation in Africa. Presenting case studies, macro-level simulations, and relevant surveys, it analyzes food crops and agri-food policy challenges and their implications in various African countries. In addition, it discusses how current African agri-food policies could be improved to achieve the continental vision of sustainable development in light of the African Union’s Agenda 2063. 
The respective contributions address topics such as drivers of technical efficiency among smallholder maize farmers; farm management practices; agri-food infrastructure policies; food security; agricultural growth; and financing for and investment in agricultural production. Notă biografică

Gbadebo Odularu lectures and advances Economics Science research frontiers at the Virginia Military Institute (VMI), Bay Atlantic University (BAU), Socio-Economic Research Applications & Projects (SERAP), United States Institute for Advancing Community Development through Trade, Equity, Interdisciplinary Applied Research and Education (USI-ADMIRE), and Nexford University (NXU), United States. In addition to being Covenant University International Visiting Scholar, his senior resident and non-resident fellowships are affiliated with the Pan-African Scientific Research Council (PASRC), Center for the Study of Economies of Africa (CSEA), Nigerian Economic Summit Group (NESG), and the Covenant University Center for Economic Policy and Development Research (CEPDeR). Based on his experience at the Korean Institute for International Economic Policy (KIEP), Forum for Agricultural Research in Africa (FARA), World Trade Organization (WTO), United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA), University of Oxford Center for the Study of African Economies (CSAE), China Agricultural University (CAU), Trade Policy Training Center in Africa (TRAPCA), African Economic Research Consortium (AERC), and United Nations Institute for Development Planning (UNIDEP), he also leads the No Hunger Initiatives (NHI) vision and No Hunger Food Bank and Systems (NHFBS) strategy. In addition to his great passion for advancing frontiers of interdisciplinary knowledge, he currently collaborates with national, continental, and international governments by deploying data visualization and geospatial analytics to provide evidence-based policy tools for enhancing post-pandemic socio-economic recoveries among vulnerable communities. Gbadebo Odularu is African Finance and Economic Association (AFEA) President, and he holds a Ph.D. degree from the University of Sunderland, United Kingdom.
