Lewis Carroll is the pen name of Charles Lutwidge Dodgson. On a summer day in 1862, he invented a story to entertain three little girls. This story became the novel "Alice's Adventures Under Ground," later retitled to "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland," and often shortened to just "Alice in Wonderland."
