Descriere
The importance of the Scot, John Drummond - a favourite of Britain’s rulers - is revealed here: how as a master-fixer, merchant-banker, diplomat, spy and patronage-monger he served the new Britain created in 1707. The book shows how he laboured on behalf of the burgeoning empire and for fellow-Britons, without sacrificing his beloved Scotland.
