Notă biografică

The author was born in Hilo, Hawaii to a fisherman father and a picture-bride mother from Japan. She lived in Hawaii during the 1920s and 1930s and in the 1940s moved to Chicago where she completed her education. Presently she lives in Denver, Colorado. Her other books are "Once, a Lotus Garden" and "From the Lanai & Other Hawaii Stories," both translated into Japanese.
