LAN SLUDER is the author or co-author of more than 20 books on travel and retirement in the United States and Central America including. Besides Live the Good Life in Asheville, Sluder wrote Amazing Asheville, Fodor's Belize, Move to Asheville, Asheville: Relocation, Retirement and Visitor Guide, Easy Belize, Bug Out to Belize, Frommer's Beach Vacations: The Carolinas and Georgia, Fodor's The Carolinas & Georgia (co-author) and others. He also has written books on classic Rolls Royce and Bentley motorcars, the 25 most intriguing private eyes and the game of bridge, authoring Buy a Classic Rolls-Royce or Bentley, Murder! and Play Bridge Today. Sluder has contributed to many newspapers, magazines and online media around the world including the TravelChannel.com, Chicago Tribune, The New York Times, Where to Retire, Bangkok Post, The Tico Times, New Orleans Business, Belize First, Caribbean Travel & Life, Islands, Newsday, Miami Herald, Charlotte Observer, Raleigh News & Observer and Globe & Mail. A former newspaper editor in New Orleans, Belize magazine editor and publisher, ad agency owner and marketing consultant, Sluder lives on a mountain farm near Asheville with his wife, Sheila M. Lambert, an attorney. They have two children, Brooks Lambert-Sluder, a program manager at Harvard, and Rose Lambert-Sluder, a writer.
