@arabicelit: Electronic Literature in the Arab World: Electronic Literature

Autor Reham Hosny
en Limba Engleză Hardback – 25 iun 2025
In this open access book, Reham Hosny explores and reflects on the idiosyncrasies of Arabic electronic literature (e-lit). Electronic literature from the Arab world is a fusion and confusion of cultures, histories, and languages. While each chapter adopts its theoretical framework according to the discussed issue, an analytical, medium-specific, and cross-cultural approach is the main critical orientation. @arabicelit starts its journey from 12th-century Arabic poetry to reflect upon the classical precursors of e-lit down to present developments, genres, and poetics. Although there are a few books in English language that discuss Arabic literature on the Internet, none of them discuss Arabic e-lit as a born-digital practice. This book reflects the experience of its author as the director of the Arabic Electronic Literature network (AEL) and the international consultant of the Electronic Literature Organization's ELC4. The ebook editions of this book are available open access under a CC BY-NC-ND 4.0 licence on www.bloomsburycollections.com.
