Between the years 2000 and 2008, the German federal labour market policies (SGB III) were supplemented by funds provided by the European Social Fund (ESF-BA-Programm). This constitutes the final report on the research carried out by the AIB. It presents the results of the implementation and impact analyses of the ESF support of vocational training of jobless persons, as well as qualification measures during short-time work and job loss, help with business start-ups out of unemployment and the tuition of work-related German language skills for unemployed people with a migration background.
