Notă biografică
PAULA CHAN BING received her bachelors degree in music education from the University of Maryland and a masters degree in flute performance from Indiana University. She has performed with many orchestras and chamber groups throughout New York, including the Dance Theatre of Harlem and the Chinese Music Ensemble of New York. In the Broadway show Miss Saigon she played Western and Asian flutes, and has recorded many CDs, documentaries, and feature films, such as Malcolm X. With storyteller and author Margaret Wolfson, she has toured Europe, Asia, Sweden, and Australia, creating sound design for stories on world flute, percussion, and folk harp.Artsgenesis, Inc., was founded in 1992 by Roger Shea and Kathleen Gaffney, theatre professionals who have dedicated their lives to giving students of all abilities, teachers, and parents the tools to unleash their creativity and transform their lives. ARTSGENESIS develops teachers and artists across the country through institutes, keynotes, and consulting.Since 1978, ARTS HORIZONS, INC., a nonprofit arts-in-education organization, has been bringing the power, joy, and positive influence of the arts into the lives of young people by making music, art, dance, theatre and creative writing an integral part of teaching and learning. Professional artists offer a wide variety of unique, multicultural programs to all populations, with a special emphasis on at-risk students and those with special needs.
