Bad Rhymes, No Reason

Autor Simon C Barton
en Limba Engleză Hardback – 29 oct 2022
"Bad Rhymes No Reason" details Simon Charles Barton's post-stroke journey over an 8-10-year period through a series of quite random, risible, rhyming reflections. Simon chronicles his ultimate pursuit for the discovery of a new self and life-purpose, taking readers on a light-hearted and self-poking examination of the joy's and pitfalls of the healing process. Featuring more than 50 original poems, "Bad Rhymes No Reason" examines such themes as navigating family discussions post-stroke in "Reticence," the necessity of nurses in "Angels," and self-renewal in"Reinvention." Throughout, Simon delights readers with whimsical rhymes and heartfelt messages. Part poetry, part biography, part memoir - "Bad Rhymes No Reason" reminds us of the people, places and poems which are integral to each of our own healing processes.

Notă biografică

Simon Charles Barton was born just outside of London, England in 1960. Simon has dedicated much of his life to engineering, relocating his family to Raleigh, NC in 1994 as a specialist Design and Application Engineer. Simon ran his own business in Raleigh for several years, living with his wife, Sarah, and their three children. Simon was forced to close his business in 2015, two years after suffering a sudden, massive right-hemisphere, ischemic stroke - limiting Simon's physical and cognitive abilities. Simon soon discovered his love of writing, reinventing himself as an author and poet, and publishing his first book in 2019, "Not so Green as Cabbage Looking." Their kids having grown into adults, Simon and Sarah now enjoy quiet lives in Wake Forest, North Carolina.
