Students of epic poetry and ancient world literature will find this a fascinating read.ELODIE LAWTON MIJATOVIC (1825-1908) was a British author who translated Serbian works into English, wrote several English-language histories on Serbia, and translated national Serbian songs about the Battle of Kossovo into one Ballad, which she dedicated to Her Highness Nathalie, Princess of Serbia. When living in Boston in the 1850s, Lawton was a proponent of the American abolitionist movement. She married a Serbian politician and writer, Čedomilj Mijatović, in 1864.
