Beware the Ides of March

Miami.

Ronald Dalton, a successful lawyer has just been arrested for a murder he didn't commit. Originally an idealistic young lawyer wanting to help the poor with legal work, Ron finds himself working long hours acquiring wealth and neglecting his wife. A psychic had foretold a murder would occur in 20 years involving him and his prior foretold knowledge of the murder would implicate him in the murder and he would be on trial for his life. The psychic told him how to prevent the murder from happening but he foolishly disregarded the prophecy.

Ronald's lonely wife, Claudia, begins an affair with Rafael Santiago, a fabulously wealthy business man who actually runs the financial side of large drug cartel with his evil brother. After finding out about Rafael's cartel affiliation, Claudia as well as Ron become the subjects of assassination due to Claudia's inside cartel knowledge which eventually results in a martyr like murder of an innocent young pregnant girl.

The psychic describes Julian Ring, a genius recluse devising complicated schemes against Rafael to help his step brother, Mark Burnett, who was wrongfully forced out of the DEA by a drug cartel mole. All of these characters become entwined along with a crusty old Flight Instructor to help Ron fight the Santiagos and his journey back to finally becoming a lawyer helping the poor.

From the author: "When I was in my early twenties, a psychic told my fortune using her genuine psychic ability and a deck of ordinary playing cards. I dismissed the prophecy. Years later, it happened exactly as she stated. So it's perhaps fair to say 'Beware the Ides of March' is inspired by true events. I've only had my fortune told once...and I'll never do it again."
