Notă biografică

Charlie Birmingham is an author who divides his time between the coasts of Southern California and Normandy, France, where he lives in a 17th century cottage and barn steps from the D-Day invasion beaches.Charlie cut his eye teeth on historical fiction in grade school as a devotee of the, "We Were There," series of short novels, graduating later to a group at the pinnacle of the art form -- George MacDonald Frazier, Bernard Cornwell, Robert Harris and M.M. Kaye. He strives always to measure up to their high standards. He is also the founder of D-Day 2044, a non-profit organization that works with high school and middle school students to introduce our generation of young Americans to the generation of young Americans that saved the World on June 6, 1944.Still to this day, Charlie remembers the proudest moment of his life as the day he received his first library card from the Potomac Avenue branch of the Alexandria, VA, public library.Following the success of his novel, "Bocage," a story of love and loss during the Allied invasion of Normandy in WWII, his second novel, "Die Bäckerei (The Bakery)," a story of faith and courage in the German resistance to Hitler, will be released in the Spring of 2022.
