Brain-Cancer Associated Tumor Marker Genes Expression Pattern in Humans

Autor Harun M Said, Adrian Staab, Carsten Hagemann
en Limba Engleză Paperback – 9 mar 2011
Hypoxia is an important phenomenon possessing a significant correlation with tumour progression, treatment results and the overall disease prognosis. Tumour oxygenation state leads to a series of genomic changes, enabling tumour cells survival or overcoming the oxygen deficient environment conditions. Tumour tissue growth requires a sufficient oxygen and nutrients supply. Tumour cell responses to hypoxic stress include adaptive proteomic changes allowing the cells to overcome nutritive deprivation or to escape their hostile environment by proliferation, invasion, or metastatic spread. Tumour cell proliferation requires rapid synthesis of macromolecules including lipids, proteins, and nucleotides. This book will supply information regarding this pattern in brain cancer.
