Recenzii
Meticulously researched, trenchantly argued and nicely written, Fedorchak's book demonstrates that military culture and strategy shape and are shaped by doctrine. In the case of the RAF, this process has been based on history, but looks forward to future conflict. The move to incorporate airpower into joint warfare is now the crucial capstone to the doctrinal process.
This book at last does for the RAF what Bob Futrell's classic work Ideas, Concepts, Doctrine did for the USAF. It is a fascinating and invaluable analysis of how the RAF strove to come to grips intellectually with the fast-changing demands and challenges of the post-Cold War world.
This is an extremely well-researched book which sheds important new light on the evolution of Royal Air Force doctrine from its origins in the First World War through to the early twenty-first century. It will become essential reading for those interested in the Royal Air Force, air power doctrine or the evolution of military doctrine more generally.
