Notă biografică

Joseph Sabbagh graduated from Saint-Joseph university in Beirut. In 2004, he obtained a PhD in biomaterials from the catholic university of Louvain (UCL), Belgium. In 2000 he obtained a master in restorative dentistry and endodontics from UCL. In parallel, he obtained two certificates of advanced studies in biomaterials and operative dentistry from the university of Paris-VII, France, in 1997 and 1998.
Currently, he is an associate Professor and chair of the department of restorative, aesthetic dentistry and Endodontics in the Lebanese university and the director of several research projects. He is also visiting professor at Rey Juan Carlos University Madrid, Spain. His private practice is limited to cosmetic dentistry and endodontics in Beirut and Brussels. He has published many papers in international peer-reviewed dental journals and has lectured locally and internationally. He is a member of: the Academy of Operative Dentistry USA, the editorial board of Reality -Journal, USA, the International Association of Dental Research, and fellow of the International College of Dentists.
Robert McConnell graduated in dentistry from University College Dublin. He commenced his academic career as a lecturer in Restorative Dentistry, Dublin Dental Hospital, TCD, after seven years in general practice. He completed a fellowship in Restorative Dentistry and a PhD in the department of Mechanical Engineering Department, Trinity College Dublin, TCD. He was then appointed to the University of Western Ontario, UWO, Canada, as Chairman of the Department of Biomaterial Science.   
At the UWO he held the posts of Associate Professor, Department of Medical Biophysics and Academic Dean for the Dental faculty.
In 1995 he was appointed Professor of Restorative Dentistry at CUDSH, the University Dental School and Hospital, University College, Cork, Ireland and was subsequently appointed Dean of CUDSH.
In 2007 he was selected as Head of the College of Medicine and Health at UCC. In 2011 he retired from the University in Cork.

He was appointed Clinical Professor at the Centre for Dentistry, Queens University Belfast in 2012. He retired from clinical practice in 2014 and he continues to publish articles in international dental journals.
