Russell James Ray is an Early Childhood Educator living in Santa Fe, New Mexico, where he is a single father and striving artist interested in all manners of coupling intellectual thoughts with physical pursuits. Mountain climbing and canoeing are his favorite physical diversions from Scientific musings. For him the world is a mysterious place of wonder where he likes to immerse his spiritual and corporeal self.

Russell James Ray is credited with the first canyoneering descents of the Barrancas Sinforosa and Batopilas.
It was an endeavor that spanned several years, and included a self-delusional non-first descent of the Barranca Del Cobre. He currently resides in Santa Fe, New Mexico, where he dreams of other things.
