Recenzii

A CHOICE OUTSTANDING ACADEMIC TITLE 'an indispensable introduction to modern Chinese history.'
Michael Dillon has produced a comprehensive and admirably balanced modern history of China that is accessible to newcomers and in its attendance to nuance has much for specialists as well. The culmination of a long career studying this transformative period in China's history, this book is an essential companion for students of China of all levels of experience. It takes readers carefully and with great verve on a near 200 year journey from China's traumatic first encounter with foreign imperial aggression to the country's re-emergence as a great global power
Covering the period between the 19th century and the present, this book provides a lucid account of modern Chinese history and all its political struggles.
