Context-Dependent RDF Data Replication on Mobile Devices

Autor Stefan Zander
en Limba Engleză Paperback – 11 iul 2015
Many of the everyday activities and information needs of mobile users are related to context. Recent studies, however, reveal that mobile users find their information needs inadequately addressed by current mobile ICT. This book describes an infrastructure for the selective replication of RDF data to mobile devices while considering current and future information needs of mobile users and the different contexts they are operating in. It discusses areas where context-aware computing is enhanced with technologies, languages, and concepts from the Semantic Web and contains a comparative study about the performance of current mobile RDF frameworks in replication-specific tasks. It presents an architectural schema that allows for an efficient acquisition, representation, management, processing, and dissemination of contextual information while considering completeness, consistency, and correctness requirements on data and process level. The proposed infrastructure can be adopted by software developers to make their system context-aware and equip users with data that adhere to their information needs anywhere and at anytime regardless of network-related constraints.
