Corrosion Engineering Handbook - 3 Volume Set: Corrosion Technology

Autor Philip A. Schweitzer, P.E.
en Limba Engleză Hardback – 26 dec 2006
Corrosion can be both costly and dangerous, resulting in product contamination or loss as well as structural instability and premature failure. This handbook contains information necessary for ensuring that, regardless of the structure being built, the materials selected for construction will minimize corrosion and its consequences.

Nearly twice the size of its best-selling predecessor, the Corrosion Engineering Handbook, Second Edition has been updated and expanded into a set of three self-contained volumes. Each individual book offers detailed coverage tailored to specialists in the field. Taken together, this handbook set is the most comprehensive and authoritative reference in the field.

Each book is focused on a specific area of corrosion science and technology: Fundamentals of Metallic Corrosion; Corrosion of Polymers and Elastomers; and Corrosion of Linings and Coatings. The handbook examines all the aspects necessary for understanding and mitigating potential corrosion problems. It covers mechanisms of corrosion and corrosion-resistant properties of various materials. It also contains detailed coverage of proper fabrication and installation techniques, methods for preventing corrosion, and techniques for testing and monitoring corrosion and processing conditions.

Notă biografică

Philip A. Schweitzer is a consultant in corrosion prevention, materials of construction, and chemical engineering based in York, Pennsylvania. A former contract manager and material specialist for Chem-Pro Corporation, Fairfield, New Jersey, he is the editor of the Corrosion Engineering Handbook and the Corrosion and Corrosion Protection Handbook, Second Edition; and the author of Corrosion Resistance Tables, Fifth Edition; Encyclopaedia of Corrosion Technology, Second Edition; Metallic Materials; Corrosion Resistant Linings and Coatings; Atmospheric Degradation and Corrosion Control; What Every Engineer Should Know About Corrosion; Corrosion Resistance of Elastomers; Corrosion Resistant Piping Systems; Mechanical and Corrosion Resistant Properties of Plastics and Elastomers (all titles Marcel Dekker, Inc.); and Paint and Coatings, Applications and Corrosion Resistance (Taylor &Francis). Schweitzer received the BChE degree (1950) from Polytechnic University (formerly Polytechnic Institute of Brooklyn), Brooklyn, New York.

Descriere

Nearly twice the size of its best-selling predecessor, the new edition of this handbook has been expanded into a set of three individual volumes, each focused on a specific area of corrosion science and technology: Fundamentals of Metallic Corrosion; Corrosion of Polymers and Elastomers; and Corrosion of Linings and Coatings. This thorough resource examines all those aspects necessary to fully understand and mitigate potential corrosion problems. It covers mechanisms of corrosion, corrosion-resistant properties of various materials, proper fabrication and installation techniques, methods for preventing corrosion, and techniques for testing and monitoring corrosion.
