Creating Impact Through Future Learning: The High Impact Learning that Lasts (HILL) Model
Autor Filip Dochy, Mien Segersen Limba Engleză Paperback – 15 feb 2018
Creating Impact through Future Learning introduces a model for High Impact Learning that Lasts (HILL) that is very much in synch with the demands of an agile organisation. The HILL model is about the learning of young adults, professionals, and experts. It is about the many possibilities to inspire and to support adults in their continuous learning and development process, aiming to create value for today’s and tomorrow’s society. It is about how designers of learning programmes – be it L&D officers or teachers in vocational and higher education preparing adults for professional life – can take a step forward to build the future of learning. A new mindset is needed to create a real impact.

Recenzii
"This book by Filip Dochy and Mien Segers is a real eye-opener for professionals involved in corporate and vocational learning, be it as policy makers, program designers, teachers, or trainers. In contrast to previous traditional approaches, the HILL-model is strongly founded in recently advanced multidisciplinary research on learning and development. This innovative perspective on education opens multiple possibilities for designing more efficient methods (such as team, hybrid learning, …) that involve a major shift by placing the agency of learning and developmental activities in the hands of the learners themselves. Whereas the HILL-model of focuses on corporate and vocational training, its basic ideas and practices are also relevant and applicable in other educational settings. A major domain in this respect is for example the teacher education." - Em. prof. dr. Erik De Corte, University of Leuven, Belgium
" Creating Impact Through Future Learning is a very much needed book on effective high-quality learning in today’s working life. It addresses the key question of how can training programmes help people to learn effectively in a constantly changing world.
The book introduces a new model of learning ‘HILL’ (High Impact Learning that Lasts). The HILL model helps learners work and learn in teams, to give and receive feedback, to practice and develop communication and interpersonal skills, to be critical and to search for accurate and reliable information in order to solve new problems, and to develop self-responsibility. The HILL model supports adult learners and professionals in their continuous learning processes and helps then to be prepared for tomorrow’s working life. The HILL model has a solid scientific foundation. It is based on researchers’ current understanding of key elements of high-quality learning. Furthermore, this book is based on its authors’ extensive research on learning in different context, in particular in the working life.
Even though the book has a strong scientific underpinning and is written by two scholars, it is very well written and motivates professionals to develop themselves. Furthermore, the book gives directions of how to create effective training programmes to both professional education and corporate training. " - Sari Lindblom, Professor of Higher Education, University of Helsinki
