Rufus Akinyele is a Professor of African History and Chair of the Department of History & Strategic Studies, University of Lagos. He was on the Editorial Advisory Board of African Affairs from 2008 to 2017.
Ton Dietz was director of the African Studies Centre Leiden (2010- 2017), and a colleague of Prof. Stephen Ellis. He is Emeritus Professor of African Development at Leiden University.
