Recenzii

“Our relationship with substances is, well, complicated. Depending on the societal perspective of the day, any given substance could be a detriment to society, a burgeoning industry, or somewhere on that spectrum. In Culturally Responsive Substance Use Treatment: A Guide for Practitioners, Students, and Organizations, Dr. Gabrielle Jones takes on the historical and contemporary issues while offering timely and relevant insight into the culture, more broadly, and the often overlooked and marginalized subcultures. She offers a fresh voice that makes this book impactful for all types of readers. Dr. Jones’s fusion of issues, coupled with her penchant for truth-telling, makes this book a must-read.”
Donell Barnett, Ph.D., Past President, The Association of Black Psychologists
“This is a fabulous book! Jones offers a treasure trove of practical advice, clinically relevant suggestions, and deep insights based on her extensive clinical experience and knowledge. Case examples are diverse and nuanced, with rich explanations of the historical reasons for practices that have become outdated. I expect this text will become the go-to source for culturally responsive substance use treatment!”
Pamela A. Hays, Ph.D., Licensed psychologist and creator of the ADDRESSING framework
“Dr. Gabrielle Jones is a beacon of hope for the fields of psychology and addiction medicine, shining a light on the inequities in patient care perpetuated by the systemic oppression of BIPOC communities. She eloquently guides the reader through the problems with our current frameworks of culturally competent substance use treatment and offers concrete solutions for professionals and leaders. Dr. Jones is revolutionizing mental health and addiction services at a time when the world so desperately needs support.  "Culturally Responsive Substance Use Treatment: A Guide for Practitioners, Students, and Organizations" should be a required reading for all graduate students, healthcare providers, and industry leaders. “
Dr. Jessica Byrd Olmstead, Licensed Psychologist, Entrepreneur, Addiction and Adolescent Expert.
“Dr. Gabrielle Jones has provided a nuanced understanding of substance use and substance abuse treatment. Dr. Jones covers a variety of topics that seem to get overlooked when considering the complex variables of substance abuse and ways to recover. This is a helpful read for professionals who are on the front lines of the substance abuse crisis. “
Cedric Williams, Ph.D., Licensed Clinical and Consulting Psychologist
