Professor Kulchavenyais an author of a chapter on urogenital tuberculosis in the UAAguidelines for UTI and STI; she is an author of more than hundred articles on urogenitaltuberculosis and seventeen books. Professor Ekaterina Kulchavenya was awarded with multiple prestigiousurological prizes.

Thisbook is written by a high-skilled specialist with huge experience in diagnosis,therapy and surgery for urogenital tuberculosis (UGTB). UGTB is the second most common form of TB in countrieswith a severe epidemic situation and the third most common form in regions with low incidence of TB. With patients living in theregion of a high TB incidence rate or patients who had contact with TB orsuffer from recurrent course of the disease, all urogenital tract infectionsshould be tested for UGTB. Patients with tuberculosis, including UGTB need longmulti-drug chemotherapy, and compliance depends on the drug tolerance. Anti-TBtherapy for kidney TB was complicated by adverse effects in 41.0%.
