When Ken Garrity regained consciousness, he was upside down in a wrecked jeep. Little did he know that his whole life had been turned upside down. His memory was gone, and he didn't even know who he was. His wrists were bruised because he had been tied up and would eventually learn that he had been drugged. He was found wandering in Tijeras Canyon east of Albuquerque and taken to the hospital to treat his injuries. But he was still in grave danger. He didn't know who wanted him dead, or why. People who were connected to his past were getting killed and he wondered if he had been a victim of a crime or just another criminal who had crossed someone. As his memory slowly returned, he questioned whether some of his past friends were really enemies. Was someone settling scores or was it something bigger?
