Notă biografică
WAYNE VANSANT was born in Atlanta, Georgia in 1949. He served in the US Navy during the Vietnam War, and graduated from the Atlanta College of Art in 1975. His first comic work appeared in MARVEL's Savage Tales, and was the principle artist for The 'Nam for more than fifty issues. He wrote and illustrated Days of Darkness for Apple Comics, telling the story of the early days of the war in the Pacific in the early 90's. One of the most acclaimed historical comic artists working today, Wayne has created and illustrated comics from Marvel, Eclipse, Penguin, Caliber, Dark Horse and others. He contributed to The New Two-Fisted Tales and Real War Stories and also launched a series of non-fiction, military history comics called the Heritage Collection, which covered the Civil War and World War II. Some of the war comics from Wayne include Shiloh, The Vietnam War: A Graphic History, Semper Fi (Tales of the Marine Corps), and Witches' Caldron, the incredible story of the Cherkassy Pocket. Lending his considerable skills, Wayne has also illustrated fictional graphic novels set during various war settings such as Battron, a tale of a French Foreign Legionnaire and Stephen Crane's The Red Badge of Courage for Penguin Books. In addition to Days of Darkness from Caliber Comics, Caliber Comics also offers Wayne Vansant's graphic novels Battron and Knights of the Skull World War II.
