Deadly Sins, Deadly Secrets

Autor Sylvia Dickey Smith
en Limba Engleză Paperback – 29 apr 2012
"Move over Stephanie Plum and Annie Darling. There's a new sassy sleuth on the scene and boy, is she a firecracker After escaping decades of confinement as a preacher's wife, Sidra Smart returns to her sleepy East Texas hamlet to take over the reigns of her dead brother's "Third Eye" detective agency. Just when she starts to get her bearings, her office burns to the ground and her apartment is yanked out from under her. Sidra has no alternative but to room with her endearingly neurotic aunt in a spooky 19th-century haunted house. With a little help from a ghostly sidekick, a floppy-eared hound, a meddlesome aunt, and a trusty Cajun-tongued detective, Sidra combs through a lurid web of secrets, lies, and deceit that span more than half a century. Sylvia Dickey Smith, who has now been added to my dirty dozen of top mystery authors, has created a charming and winning character in Sidra Smart. With her atmospheric descriptions of rural East Texas, and character-driven plots, she has a real knack for crafting a quality thriller." - Chick Lit Cafe. The author, Sylvia Dickey Smith was born in Orange, Texas, and lived there through her high school years. She now lives in Georgetown, Texas (near Austin). In addition to her popular mystery series featuring Sidra Smart, private eye, set in the borderlands where Texas and Louisiana meet, she is also author of an award-winning novel of the World War II homefront, featuring Bea Meade, young mother and lady riveter, titled A War of Her Own.

Notă biografică

Sylvia Dickey Smith believes in the tremendous power of story. To her, story is that thing that connects us one to the other. It gives us something to hang onto while we find our way through life. It defines who we are, what we stand for, and often what we absolutely will not stand for. Within the process of storytelling, she says, we find our voice. When she isn't writing, she enjoys talking to the stranger in line at the supermarket, at the gas station, in the shopping center. Such conversation gives her a glimpse into story.
