Recenzii
Professor Andrews brings together science, practice and lived experience of dementia into an invaluable resource
Offers realistic and achievable solutions to diverse problems for people with dementia, as well as their carers and health professionals. ... I would highly recommend it.
A valuable resource
So clear and practical ... this book will help families and friends of people with dementia all over the world, and be a support to those professionals who work to improve their difficult journey.
Exactly what is needed. Sensible advice from someone who really knows what she is talking about
With characteristic flare and a pragmatic approach, June manages to cut through the current narrative on dementia and reminds us that we are there for the benefit of people with dementia, our patients and their families and carers ... This book contains a wealth of information ... It is an extraordinary, useful thing for anyone concerned with dementia care whether it be from personal experience (direct or indirect) professional, policy or politics.
Professor Andrews brings together science, practice and lived experience of dementia into an invaluable resource ... In a very accessible, down-to-earth and human style, Professor Andrews outlines what you need to know and do to stay well as long as possible ... I wish I'd had this book on my caring journey ... the book has given me clarity, information and options for planning ahead
June Andrews articulates the complexities of life with dementia in a way that is easy to understand. Written with minimal jargon and medical terminology, her book offers in-depth explanation of the issues and symptoms associated with dementia. But what makes it really special is that it offers realistic and achievable solutions to diverse problems for people with dementia, as well as their carers and health professionals. It explores dementia and its onset in an honest, open way that manages to avoid being scary. Using a reassuring tone, it navigates readers through the diagnosis and the treatment options available, and encourages them to read on and gain as much information as possible ... It is packed with helpful ideas and suggestions ... I would highly recommend it.
