Detours & Dreams

Autor Kathy Henigan Jimerson
en Limba Engleză Paperback – 28 feb 2019
Choices can change everything.
Teens and families experiencing teen pregnancy know this well.
Kathy Henigan Jimerson, teacher/facilitator for pregnant/parenting teens was once a school dropout and teen mother. Like so many, she got lost in the belief that she could never rise above her circumstances. Older women, divinely placed into her life, spoke words of encouragement and helped her to believe differently.
Detours and Dreams, written from her personal journey as well as the stories of other teens, dispels myths, speaks truth, and oozes with life-changing hope. It is an honest, revealing perspective from those who have lived it.
Detours and Dreams will renew a desire to live fearlessly, inspire confidence to create your story, and help you reclaim your dreams.

Notă biografică

Featured on Good Morning America, Oprah Winfrey, and honored by the Texas Legislature for her work with pregnant/parenting teens, Kathy Henigan Jimerson began her journey as a sixteen-year-old school dropout and teen mother.
Through encouragement from others, she chose faith, hard work and a tenacious belief that God had a good plan for her life. After earning a GED, she completed a bachelor's degree and master's degree in speech communication and secondary education.
She and her husband have been married over 50 years, and have three successful children and nine grandchildren. "Although society judged us as most unlikely to succeed, in spite of our detours, we proved with God's help, dreams don't have to die."
