Recenzii
From the reviews:
“This is a useful compendium of various molecular methods (with a special focus on microarray technology) applied to research and diagnostic and prognostic purposes for most solid human tumors … . The book is designed primarily for residents and fellows, oncologists, pathologists, molecular biologists, biotechnologists, and others who study oncologic diseases. … chapters are detailed and informative and present molecular genetic aspects in an appropriate clinical setting. … The references following each chapter are extensive, relevant, and updated.” (Semir Vranic, Doody’s Review Service, July, 2012)

Gene expression studies have revealed diagnostic profiles and upregulation of specific pathways in many solid tumors. The explosion of new information in gene expression profiling could potentially lead to the development of tailored treatments in many solid tumors. In addition many studies are ongoing to validate these signatures also in predicting response to hormonal, chemotherapeutic and targeted agents in breast cancer as well as in other tumors.
