The german army has developed itself over the last 20 years since the reunification to an army in the field, serving worldwide in the name of peace, security and freedom, partly even by using weapons. Incidents like the bombing at Kundus on 4th September 2009 show how quickly german soldiers can face legal risks in criminal law - exactly these risks are shown by this piece of work. After an introduction on the history and work of the german army, in a handbook-like presentation, applicable norms in criminal law are located, afterwards their legal restriction is discussed. All in all, this work tries to establish a general information about possible legal risks concerning criminal law for german soldiers.
