“She has not only written extensively on the South Asian experience of disability but has brought together important scholarship by several academics in this area in a recent edited work.” (Ankita Gandhi and Surabhi Singh, Jindal Global Law Review, November 30, 2021)
“Disability Studies in India edited by Nilika Mehrotra with contributions from the archetypal theorists and active practitioners alike, is long awaited. … Disability Studies in India would remain a must-read text for scholars in disability studies and all others engaged in a serious interdisciplinary research.” (N. Annavaram, Indian Journal of Critical Disability Studies, December, 2020)
“Nilika Mehrotra needs to be congratulated for bringing together such a rich and diverse landscape of disability scholarship from across the Indian academic context. The careful and thoughtful articulations of disability in its historical and contemporary context will be an essential reading for those engaging within questions of disability within India and South Asia, and for scholars, who seek to rigorously understand the significance of interdisciplinary Southern accounts for their own work.” (Karen Soldatic, Disability and the Global South, Vol. 7 (1), 2020)
