Notă biografică
Kenneth Bottoms grew up in Kilgore, Texas in a loving and supportive Christian home with his mother and step-dad. He was baptized at age 12 in Rabbit creek, where he also went fishing from time to time as a child and stayed away from the snakes. As a teen and young man, he earned money at various jobs, but primarily by working as a golf course caddy and later as a roughneck on oilfield rigs. He used these earnings to pay for all of his college tuition and living expenses. He attended Kilgore Junior College and then Texas Tech University, where he received a BS in Electrical Engineering and met his future wife, Anne. A few months after graduation from Tech, he joined the Air Force and married Anne shortly thereafter. He served four years during the Vietnam War, was awarded a medal for his work on enhancing communications on the Worldwide Airborne Command Post aircraft which are in the air 24/7 and constantly available to launch attacks on enemies of the United States. He achieved the rank of Captain. He and Anne were blessed with two wonderful children who are now outstanding parents of four wonderful grandchildren. He met his birth dad for the first time over four decades after he was born. He also met his half-sister Pam and half-brother Harvey, along with their families. He was not aware of the existence of these siblings before meeting his birth dad. Pam is the one who searched for years for him and finally found him when he was working in St Louis. He served as a deacon at Churches of Christ in Dallas and St Louis. He served as an elder at the Collingswood Church of Christ near Philadelphia. His career took him to many cities and he retired from three different Fortune 500 companies, and is now living in Grand Prairie, Texas with his wife Anne. Over the years, he received graduate degrees and taught masters degree courses as an adjunct professor at Washington University in St Louis and at two prestigious universities in Philadelphia. He has never learned to stop working and now is a full-time volunteer helping incarcerated veterans through his churchs prison ministry. He is also an advocate in Texas courts for children in the state foster care system.
