Hidenori Tanaka is a Professor at National Institute of Technology (KOSEN), Gunma College, Japan. He previously worked for 25 years as a design engineer for Japan Mining Corporation and Penta Ocean Construction Corporation.

This presents practical experiment results on concrete structure performance, with numerical analyses and case studies, and applies elasto-plastic theory to damage mechanics and the modelling of cracks in concrete. It shows mathematical models of mechanical phenomena to eplain the nonlinear behaviour of concrete structures.
