Recenzii
Morse provides a well-researched, well-presented, and readable critical assessment of 'Eve's afterlives' that includes heretical, marginal, and forgotten insights in an enriching encounter with Eve.
This book would serve as a superb textbook for a course on the reception of Eve. It is careful, well-argued and well documented. It can serve to launch any number of exegetical, historical, hermeneutical, aesthetic or cultural debates. We are all in Morse's debt for curating this excellent exhibition on Eve's afterlives.
Encountering Eve's Afterlives presents a rich, detailed, and diverse collection of portraits of Eve's story. The use of galleries as opposed to chapters requires some adaption on the reader's part but is a creative way to organize and present such a rich and diverse history.
Throughout the book, our curator's creative approach (through the 'art gallery' metaphor) has allowed the reader to enter into creative and critical interaction with the text and tradition.
