Zaragoza is the sixth novel of the first series of Episodios Nacionales by Benito P rez Gald s. The story recreates the historical siege of Zaragoza. Gabriel escapes the French army and joins in the battle, which he recounts in detail. Despite being outnumbered, the French put up a strong resistance, until finally reinforcements came and solidified their hold on the city. The story contains both fictional and historical characters.
