Recenzii
‘Every day people of all ages with mental health problems and drug and alcohol use issues present to emergency specialists and community services. They don't deserve, but often experience, poor service and disrespect from whom they seek help. These writers reveal and encourage the reader's understanding, skills, and ethics on how best to respond effectively to each person seeking their support. This book also helps others who are concerned with this issue to be a positive role model every day. I commend this important publication to students, practitioners, and others concerned with the ethics and morality of this human encounter. Thank you, David Cooper, for yet again publishing on another neglected topic in this field.’ – Dr. Charlotte de Crespigny, RN, BN, Grad.Dip.PHC (Addictions), PhD, adjunct professor, Adelaide School of Nursing, The University of Adelaide, South Australia
‘This book is an essential addition to the excellent series Mental Health–Substance Use and forms the foundation for ethical clinical practice of all health professionals. This book is particularly important in highlighting the need for dignity, respect, and compassion when working with one of the most vulnerable groups within our community. This practical guide is an invaluable tool for health professionals in all contexts of practice.’ – Lynette Cusack, RN, PhD, MHA, BN, Dip Applied Science – Nursing, Midwifery Cert.; associate professor, Adelaide School of Nursing, The University of Adelaide, South Australia
