Rosemary enlisted in the United States Army in 1976 where she traveled to Stuttgart, Germany. Rosemary's life would transition in a way no one who knew her expected. She suffered through a nearly fatal automobile accident on Wednesday, January 8, 1986 on Chamounix Drive, located in Fairmount Park, Philadelphia, PA. She does not recall or remember the accident. Rosemary's car was struck by a passenger van; her car hit a tree and exploded. The driver of the van died in the collision. Rosemary was thrown from her car while she was engulfed in flames. She was burned on her face, her head, and her legs. She suffered 1st, 2nd and 3rd degree burns, broken legs and a concussion. She endured the severe pain burns cause and endured over a hundred surgeries. She would learn to walk again and learn how to live with one eye. She was challenged with infections and surgeries that failed. Rosemary's faith would give her strength to overcome many obstacles. She says her faith in her Lord and Savior, Jesus, guided her through all of her challenges. Rosemary started Healed With Scars, "an organization for people with burn injury" in 2005. Rosemary was an honoree and recipient of the "Circle of Winners" where she received a trophy. Rosemary is most proud of receiving a plaque presented by the Women to Women Ministries of Bethany Baptist Church, The Women of Excellence Award, "For Encouragement, Inspiration and Motivation to Women." Rosemary has two favorite movies that have encouraged her journey in serving others, "The Razor's Edge" and the "Song of Bernadette." She says both of the main characters in these movies accepted that their revelation for their lives is to serve others, and to continue to seek, love and honor God. Rosemary has accepted her revelation about her life to serve others, and to continue to seek, love and honor God. Rosemary has one daughter who is married with two grandchildren.
