Fetal Radiology: A Diagnostic Atlas

Autor Reinhard Schumacher, Laurie H. Seaver, Jürgen Spranger
en Limba Engleză Paperback – 13 dec 2014
Intrinsic errors of skeletal development are individually rare but of clinical importance because of their overall frequency and their impact on a patient's life. Sonography has become a routine component of prenatal care, and many of these disorders are diagnosed prenatally. Postnatally, the prenatal diagnosis has to be verified. To this end, fetal radiography is an effective, simple and economic way to establish a diagnosis or to narrow the number of diagnostic possibilities sufficiently to enable pathological, biochemical or molecular studies to be used in the quest for a specific diagnosis. Equally important, a correct diagnosis is required for correct prognostication and parental counseling. This book has been written to assist in the postnatal diagnosis of fetal errors of skeletal development.

Recenzii

From the reviews:
"Fetal diagnosis of dysplasia ... will be greatly aided by the availability of this high-quality book … . Up-to-date genetic information and representative radiographs are provided … . highly relevant to those who perform prenatal US and MR imaging, thereby making this the atlas to use. … is indeed authoritative. The book is well organized and written in excellent English; the image reproductions are beautiful and effective. Fetal Radiology is an instant classic that should be used by prenatal imagers … ." (Alan E. Oestreich, Radiology, March, 2005)
"This book has been written to assist in fetal post-natal radiological diagnosis … . provides an overview and additional references for further detail. … a well laid out, well described user- friendly book working from the problem posed clinically to the diagnosis in logical fashion. It is an ideal bench book for any department involved in the interpretation of fetal radiographs. It would also be a useful addition to libraries in obstetric ultrasound and genetic departments … ." (Dr. E H Whitby, RAD Magazine, December, 2004)
